Westermo Merlin 4407 - LTE/NB-IoT (IEC 61850-3) Router

"The Westermo Merlin 4407 is a range of compact industrial mobile routers designed for secure and reliable data communication via 4G LTE Cat-4 and LTE-M/NB-IoT.

Depending on the model, the Merlin 4407 supports 4G LTE Cat-4 or LTE Cat-M1/NB-IoT. The routers feature four 100 Mbit/s Ethernet ports, two SIM card slots and two serial ports. One port is configurable as an RS-232 interface or digital input, whilst the second supports RS-232 or RS-485.

In addition to standard IP routing functions, the Merlin 4407 also supports industrial protocol conversion, including IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 60870-5-101, IEC 61850, Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3 and MQTT.

The Merlin 4407 complies with the IEC 61850-3 Class 1 standard for applications in electrical substations and is therefore particularly suitable for energy infrastructure and critical industrial networks.

The robust metal housing, galvanically isolated power input and the extended operating temperature range of -40 to +70 °C make the router suitable for long-term use in demanding industrial environments.

With Westermo Activator, these routers can also be configured centrally and commissioned on a large scale via zero-touch deployment, as well as updated remotely."
